CMP Lemons Block Party 2025
Huge thank you to all of our friends and family that came out to support Rav Racing’s Lemons team “The Repo Men!” we hope everyone that was able to come visit us at the track had an amazing time, we know the team did!
This race was our “debut” in the world of motorsports and we think it went about as well as it could have! The most important thing is that the car survived and we managed to escape the race with no damage to the car itself. The team did incredibly well and everyone did an amazing job putting in extra effort both getting to and during the race. We spent several long days… and a couple nights, putting in a lot of effort to get the car race ready and it paid off!
The experience at the Block Party and the race itself was an absolute blast! We met a ton of really cool guys and teams that we hope to be able to see at more races in the future! We are looking forward to being able to race against a bunch of these guys again once we get some of our car issues sorted out so we can be more competitive.
The two biggest changes to the car we are planning on making are running the correct spaced rims and correct tires. The street tires we ran really held us back in the corners. It was almost impossible to keep up with a lot of the cars around the track just because of the lack of handling. The other main issue we ran into was our breaks. We ran street pads with slotted and drilled rotors. Neither of those were good for an endurance race and really cost us a lot of time. Twice on Sunday we ran pads down to the metal. One of our neighboring teams made a suggestion to run Porterfield R4e pads, and we will be taking his suggestion. Another fix we need to do is make sure we actually run at least DOT 4 brake fluid. I believe someone has managed to put DOT 3 in the reservoir which probably contributed quite a bit to the spongy brakes we experienced at certain points throughout the race.
Overall a huge success for our first race, and we look forward to racing in Lemons again! Check back every now and then for updates to the car. We will be posting them here.
